FEATURE STORY

Global Volunteer Month

Global Volunteer Month

Chow Tai Fook Jewellery Group unites the efforts of colleagues from various regions and, through their actions during Global Volunteer Month in every September, we remain committed to creating a sustainable and inclusive world.

In 2007, under the leadership of our Chairman, Dr. Cheng Ka Shun, he attended the inauguration and officiated at the pledge ceremony with the senior management, showing the Group’s support and recognition for the volunteer services.

In 2024, we took this commitment to new heights with a refreshed identity and a clear focus. This initiative brought together hundreds of volunteers who were united by a shared purpose: to protect the environment and strengthen communities. In just a month, we organised 57 impactful events, dedicating 7,565 hours to meaningful service.

International Day of Families

The International Day of Families on May 15 serves as a meaningful occasion to promote the importance of families and their role in society. In 2024, we marked this day by launching a series of volunteer activities across Mainland China, Hong Kong,Macau, and Singapore, aiming to promote family happiness, strengthen connections, and foster societal awareness of these values.

Offering “Me time” for caregivers in Hong Kong, China

Our collaboration with the Hong Kong Sheng Kung Hui Welfare Council on the “ME TIME” programme is a targeted initiative addressing the critical needs of caregivers in Hong Kong. Many family caregivers neglect the importance of self-care, which can lead to overwhelming stress and negatively affect their physical and mental health.

The “ME TIME” programme provides caregivers with structured respite through a variety of therapeutic and recreational activities to help caregivers temporarily step away from their responsibilities and focus on their own well-being. Together with our Hong Kong Volunteer team, activity is curated to create a relaxed space where caregivers can recharge and reconnect with themselves.

The programme spans multiple districts, ensuring broad accessibility. Through 14 events, 195 caregivers benefited, each gaining a valuable opportunity to relax, de-stress, and regain energy.

Walking with Children Battling Leukaemia

The Nanchang volunteer team visited the Jiangxi Provincial Children’s Hospital, where they met a group of children fighting Leukaemia. We spent the day reading, painting, and sharing stories, turning the hospital ward into a space of laughter and creativity, which is a powerful reminder that small gestures can make a big difference.

A Winter of Warmth in Meizhou

Volunteers from the Southern District Dongguan office arrived at the Meizhou City Welfare Home, carrying bags of essentials and birthday cakes to the elderly residents, who rarely received visitors. This experience deepened our resolve to continue making a positive impact, to show them that they are valued and loved.

Bringing Warmth to Children

The Xi’an volunteer team travelled to Liujiawan Primary School in Lantian County, Shaanxi Province, where we delivered winter supplies to bring warmth to the children in need. We not only provides physical warmth but also plants seeds of love and hope in the children’s hearts.
